Frequently Asked Questions
1. I have stains on my countertop and I can not get them to go away. Can you remove them?
Answer: Penetrating sealers on countertops are not “bullet proof”. Over time the sealers will break
down and allow contaminant penetration. This can leave an unsightly stain. The good news is that
ICS has a solution. Depending on the level of penetration, ICS will be successful in removing the
stain using specialized stain removing products.
2. Why does my countertop look dull? It’s not as shiny as it used to be?
Answer: Your countertop has been exposed to a lot of oils, food contaminants and cleaners over
time. ICS has special cleaning products that will remove surface contaminants and will restore the
natural beauty of you countertops.
3. My countertops seem to darken when water is spilled on them. I thought my countertops were sealed. Why are they doing this?
Answer: Your countertops need re-sealed. Countertop fabricators all use different penetrating
sealers. Some sealers hold up better than others but all will break down over time. ICS offers a
standard sealer option along with a Lifetime Sealer Option. Our Lifetime sealer option offers a full
LIFETIME WARRANTY against future stains. This sealer is the best sealer on the market and the one
we recommend for the optimum in surface protection. You will never have to worry about your
countertop staining again. Protect your investment with ICS Lifetime Sealer.
4. I have a chip and a small crack in my countertop. Can you fix that?
Answer: Absolutley! We are specialists in chip and crack repair. It is vitally important that chips and
cracks are repaired as soon as possible. The longer time that goes by without these areas being
repaired, the more likely these areas will continue to get worse and will have a higher potential for
interior surface staining.
5. I’m changing my faucet and I am adding a Reverse Osmosis filter faucet and I need to drill a hole to accommodate this. Can you drill a hole in my surface?
Answer: Faucets will break down overtime and you may need to purchase a new one or even add a
specialized faucet like a reverse osmosis or even a soap dispenser hole. Holes will need to be drilled
for products and there’s no one better to turn to than ICS. This is NOT a procedure recommended
for the “do it yourself” person. If this is not completed properly, it will result in irreparable damage
to your countertops.
6. Help! My undermount sink is separating from my granite countertop. What can I do?
Answer: ICS can help. We can re-mount your sink so that it will never separate from your
countertop again.
7. My old cooktop had to be replaced and I had to purchase a new one. The cutout required for this is bigger than my old cooktop. Do you guys re-cut for new cooktops?
Answer: Yes we do! Re-cutting for new cooktops requires specialized equipment along with proper
dust extraction. We perform these duties in the least invasive way as possible, limiting any dust
migration by “tenting” off the area we are cutting in.
